Why a survey quotation depends on the property and scope, not just a headline starting price.
The property sets the work
Size, type, construction, alterations and access all affect the inspection. A large conventional home and a smaller but complex building can pose different questions. Provide the listing and describe what you already know.
Agree what is included
Check which buildings and areas are included, the report to be delivered, limitations, the total payable and VAT treatment. Specialist electrical, gas or fire checks are separate services unless explicitly included in the quotation.
Compare scope as well as price
Two figures are only comparable if they cover the same work. Ask about the proposed survey level and the professional who will carry it out. A low headline figure does not establish suitability.
